Moresby Island Tour

The day starts with the Kwuna ferry ride from Skidegate Landing to Aliford Bay. It is about a 30 minute scenic crossing that gives a good perspective on the outlay of the surrounding area. Onward Point will be our first stop. This 20 min forest walk leads to a beautiful gazebo overlooking the ocean. Grey whales can be seen here between late April and mid June. Fossils can be discovered nearby on the beach.

Old growth trees and panoramic views of the marina and inlet can be seen while hiking the Dover Trail. A scenic drive takes us through Sandspit and past Copper Bay. See where the Haidas catch sockeye with gill nets each spring! The feature of this tour is Gray Bay. Walk the long sand beach, swim or beachcomb while a hot lunch is provided. During the fall months, potential viewing of black bears fishing for the huge schools of spawning salmon can be observed in some of the rivers.
