Yakoun Lake – Rennell Sound – Haida Gwaii – Queen Charlotte Islands
We had a couple from Vancouver join us for our tour today, their names are Ann and Arthur. A local business owner Cecile and Gradey the dog also made an appearance.
As always any sunny day here on Haida Gwaii is noticed and greatly valued. I think our local enthusiasm rubbed off on Ann and Arthur. The first stop of the day was at Yakoun lake, the forest trail opens to a beach, a crystal clear lake and panoramic mountain views. Gradey entertained everyone while we stopped for a break and a quick snack.
We had a lunch break and beach combed at Gregory beach, then headed off to Bonanza beach to explore the long sand beach. Some of our finds included; starfish, sand-dollars, coral, olive & scallop shells. Animals sighted today: Bald Eagles and Sitka Black Tailed deer.
